XIII: The Conspiracy

With Stephen Dorff, Val Kilmer, Caterina Murino, Greg Bryk, John Bourgeois, Jonathan Higgins, Lucinda Davis, Luke Vitale

Written by Philippe Lyon, William Vance, Jean Van Hamme, David Wolkove
Directed by Duane Clark

A mini-series on DVD totaling 172 minutes needs to be quite entertaining to have a viewer sit through it all in one go. I didn't.
The producers tried to pump up the excitement with this assassination conspiracy tale having a secret government operative on the run, accused of killing the president.
With a bit too much borrowed from The Bourne Identity mold (complete with amnesia and the awareness of highly trained skills in critical situations), our hero has to uncover the truth with very little help, and the hourglass running empty.
Had one caught this on TV the action and suspense would've been accepted far more readily in several parts. But, Dorff manages to get pretty close to the template set by Matt Damon in the Bourne movies.

PS. Almost as expected, Kilmer makes more of a supporting visit to the cast.
