THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS - Motion Picture Soundtrack

Where the first
Matrix soundtrack was reserved for music from bands with an extreme edge, Reloaded balanced in the centre, split in two - one disc for the bands and another for the orchestral soundtrack. The soundtrack to Revolutions focuses on the latter, no bands at all. The sixteen tracks by regular Don Davis (with occasional assistance by Juno Reactor) runs the narrative course of the film, from start to finish. The familiar themes and orchestral epic feel is there with emotional-, ominous-, military-, energetic-, suspenseful elements and choirs or chants at the right moments, while other portions can gain an industrial edge, Japanese drumming rhythms or some spots with a driving dance pulse. But it always retains that dark "soundtrack" feeling, no "songs" as such. A marvelously moody epilogue to an amazing multi-media event. The bonus enhanced features content includes a preview of The Matrix comic book, the Tunnel Recon video game and the Revolutions film trailer.
